6. Embroider the muslin hexagons using your favourite stitches. I’ve used two strands of thread for chain stitch, stem stitch and the French knots on Peter Rabbit’s tail. One strand of thread was used for the back stitch and the eyes are done in a fine satin stitch also using one strand of thread. See stitch guide in General Instructions. Also take note of close up photos where I have added extra embroidered detail, e.g., the fence in the small Peter Rabbit.

7. Each 10½˝ hexagon back is now stitched to the 8½˝ hexagon fronts. Centre each small hexagon over the larger one leaving a 1˝ seam allowance round the edges–this allows for folds over the smaller hexagon.

8. Follow the step by step photos for the method of folding over each edge and pin in place.
